If you're interested in group support at PMH...be sure to call the Survivorship Clinic and enquire about Talking Sticks!
Outside of the hospital, we have a wonderful network of support, like Wellsprings, Guilda's Club and Willow...all with open arms to help you With, Through and Beyond your cancer journey.
For information on any of this...you'll find links inside of the Resource Library...or you can contact the Survivorship Clinic at the hospital.

Are there any support groups outside Toronto, in Lindsay? I want to open one in our small town, but need to know how to run it? Please advise.

Hi Dolly!
I can't readily find any "local" support groups in Lindsay; however, there's a dragon boat team there and they may be a resource in helping you find or start a group in that area.
Here's a link to their site, and contact info.

Hi Dolly-I am from Bobcaygeon. Did you form at breast cancer support group in Lindsay? There is a record number of breast cancer survivors in Bobcaygeon and no local support group in Lindsay or Bobcaygeon that I am aware of.

Hi Morgan. One of the closest places to find out about a support group in the Lindsay area is to contact the resources in the region.
I would inquire with the Canadian Cancer Society through there resource locator
www.cancer.ca for the main website and click on the information
or you can call 1888-939-3333 or email them at info@cis.cancer.ca
Another resource to ask is Hearthplace www.hearthplace.org or the cancer program at Lakeridge Health.
An additional resource would be www.willow.ca if you were looking for a breast support group specifically.

Dealing with cancer is not easy and many people are faced with this fight. To help support those fighting, the Canadian Cancer Society has developed short films and segments where Canadians share their real experiences and emotions, inviting and inspiring others to join the fight for life. Have a look at our YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/cdncancersociety.

I'm managing the Chordoma Support Group, an international message board and information site for an extremely rare disease. Chordoma occurs less than once in 1 000 000 people so it isn't practical to hold many meetings.
Do you have anywhere I might list a link to such a group? We have some Canadian members and we are HON aproved.
Regards
