So scared for my Mom

Sorry - this might end up being long!
My Mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in October 2009. She went through 3 rounds of chemo, had her surgery January 7, 2010. She had 3 more rounds of chemo, at which point her CA-125 level was 28, so within the normal range. Her 3rd treatment was in March 2010. She had a follow-up appointment scheduled at that time for June 25th.
In May she started experiencing symptoms again - she was starting to bloat again, and having pains in her abdomen. She contacted her doctor (GP) and the oncologist, and both thought everything was normal. My Dad finally forced the issue and had them do her blood tests a week before they were scheduled.
My Mom went to her appointment last Friday - and sure enough her count was back up to 98. The doctor also realized that she definitely had bloated up again. They drained 4 1/2 litres of fluid and are now setting up her chemo treatments to start again (is supposed to hear today).
I am hoping someone out there has been through this and has a happy story. Everything I read seems to say that if it comes back this quickly, there is a very low survival rate. I love my Mom - she is my best friend. I have 2 little girls that absolutely worship her - and I was hoping she would have a number of years with them.
My Mom is staying very positive - she is truly amazing. I need to find her strength, because I am having a hard time being positive.

Hi I am sorry it is so frightening for families- I really don't know as I am not in a similar position still going thru my first round of 6 chemo treatments (soon to finish) but have Ovarian Cancer stage 3-4. I wanted to say that your mom and your family will be in my thoughts. I think it is good that they can do chemo again and that your mom responded and that she is positive. Your mom sounds so strong and you are too my friend hope that there is someone on site who has similar experience and will post some concrete info.

Thank you for responding. It is a scary thing to deal with, and I am sorry you are going through this. I hope your treatments go well, and I will keep you in my thoughts as well.
